What Obama Can Do To Create Jobs

If you ever read the newspaper, or watch the T.V. while President Obama is speaking, he’s always talking about what we can do to create more jobs, or saying that he’s got this new bill that will provide new jobs for Americans. That seems great, right? Well, not quite. While a few new jobs do get provided, it doesn’t get to the root of the problem: we need more U.S. Manufacturing. And the President has the power to do something about that. You see…

President Obama is Commander in Chief, The Big Cheese, Top Gun, okay? As the Big Cheese, he has the power to create jobs without Congress’ permission. What a lot of people don’t realize is that the U.S. Military is one of the biggest retailers in the world. Specifically the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. That means that they sell stuff. To people. For money. You see, the AAFES has over 1,400 stores on U.S. Military bases across the globe. Over 50,000 people work for these stores and they serve over 10 MILLION people. And the AAFES makes about 8 BILLION dollars every year. So it’s certainly a huge market. The Navy does the same thing, although the market’s a bit smaller, making about $2 billion a year instead.

But the problem is, these government-owned stores sell products that are made in China.

All President Obama has to do is require that the Army, Air Force, and Naval Exchanges buy American-made goods only. With the stroke of a pen. That’s it. If he does that, it would increase the government’s money by 5 billion dollars, at least. On top of that, it would create over 100,000 jobs. Sounds great, right? That’s because it is. And it doesn’t stop at the AAFES…

National Parks, such as Yellowstone or Yosemite, are U.S. government property. The stores there sell T-shirts, mugs, postcards and stuff like that, can you guess where that stuff is made? If you guessed China, then you’re a smart alec. They’re imported, they could be from anywhere, the point is they’re not made in the United States. Again, all Obama has to do is tell those stores to buy American.

Also, remember General Motors? GM? President Obama saved them? Well, the government owns 61% of GM. As owner, Obama can hire directors who will only buy American. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, Buying American = More Money. Also, as President Obama is arguably the most influential man in America, couldn’t he simply invite America’s top manufacturers, designers, etc. to the White House and say, “Hey guys, I’m the President, and I want you to buy American, because frankly, it’s embarrassing. Do you want to embarrass your President? Am I really the guy whose bad side you want to get on?” I imagine if the President himself asked you to do something, you’d probably do it. Perhaps that’s something Obama should think about considering there’s an election coming up this year. Just a suggestion though.
